Help! We were living with roommates when I got pregnant and now one left and called the landlord and said the other roommate is selling drugs and bringing a bunch of people over, because he was mad at her for something. Well he said this so much to people that now the cops are watching her and the landlord terminated the lease and we (my husband and I) have nowhere to go. We were evicted from HUD housing over a year ago and now I feel like we have no options because of this. We are really tight on money right now and haven't been able to pay what we owe from the eviction and I just feel super hopeless now. I can't live with my family because there are too many people in the house already. Can someone give me any advice please 😢😢

Stay calm. Try finding a few private property owns with places to rent (Somebody who owns an apartment or house and isn't technically a 'landlord' by trade). Offer up your story and maybe lay it on a little thick that you're pregnant and in desperate need of relaocation ASAP. People that don't professionally lease properties are going to be so much more sympathetic to your situation and you may get away with not having a background or credit check. I've had to do this before and it does take work and you will get turned down but just start contacting as many people as you can. Nobody wants a pregnant mom on the streets.

try finding another roomate til you can get your own place again. idk how your welfare works but I know in california I know they will pay a deposit for your apartment but only 1x in a lifetime.
