I'm so worried. came back from the Dr and told me I carry a gene called ' Smith-Lemli-Opitz Syndrome ' which is basically a deformality of the brain,genitals heart, and babies having this are either miscarried,stillborn or born and live only the first week of life.Dr said my husband needed to get blood work . I'm so nervous. I mean I don't think he carries it because my first son doesn't have any signs of it. I'm beyond worried ,and on top of that my blood pressure was a tad high 😯

@1stmom1994, I know but I can't help it, especially the high blood pressure I'm afraid of early labor or preaclampsia.

How far along are you? I remember getting a phone call saying I carry the cystic fibrosis gene, and it was terrifying thinking that my baby might not be okay. Just try not to stress out. I personally opted out of having my SO tested, because even if he had it too it wouldn't change my mind about continuing my pregnancy. Just have faith.

Don't worry. It's a recessive gene trait meaning baby will need to get the trait from you and dad! Even if the dad is a carrier (which is highly unlikely!) there is only a 25% chance baby with have the disease.
