am a new mommy & am wondering is it bad for my baby to sleep on my chest that's the only way I can get him to
Thank you @lilshortgirl @nickysmom89 he won't sleep good unless he's laying on me i know they say not to do it but if that's the only way he will sleep ill start doing it
I agree with @lilshortgirl I also swore up and down that I wouldn't co-sleep but things change once you bring you LO home. However, You'll find that eventually it'll be easier for the to sleep cuddled up next to you than on your chest every night. I was scared I would roll onto my little guy but we have become very light sleepers.
As newborns they just want to be by mommy, makes them feel safe. You're going to realize after a couple of weeks that even sleeping near you comforts them. & that's when you're going to decide on how you feel about co-sleeping. As a FTM I swore up & down I wouldn't let my LO sleep with my husband & I but the first couple of weeks that was comforting for both her & I. The first couple of days though she would sleep on my chest so comfortable I loved the feeling. But I wasn't sleeping comfortable. Then I started sleeping her next to me. Little by little I was able to be strong & put her in a bassinet less than 2 feet away from me lol it was hard but I felt like it was for the better because my husband is a crazy sleeper! Goodluck! It's totally normal I believe tons of mommies do the same during the beginning, but mommy needs comfortable sleep too!
I'm the same way! That's the only way my daughter will sleep. & she's just one month.
