So I just stared babysitting a little 2 year old boy this week. He is so sweet and polite my daughter is 20 months. But the little boy keeps calling me mommy... I have tried telling him that I am her mommy and that my name is Heather but I don't know how else to get him to call me my name. Any ideas??
he also could be calling you mommy but not meaning it more of he's calling you mommy telling you thats who he wants. I watched a baby who kept saying mommy and her mom was shocked and said she barely said it to her. my mom explained she was trying to say she wanted her mommy.
I completely understand that. He's just young; it'll take him a while to get used to being babysat
thanks guys! I just don't want his mom's feelings hurt because she can't be home with him like she wants to be. she's a newly single mom and she's struggling. I just don't want her to hear it and feel bad. @melia91 @lunawolfe
maybe teach him his mommy name? like when he calls you mommy you can say I'm heather (your daughters name) mommy and (his moms name ) is (his name) mommy!
does that make any sense? lol
And his mom might need to talk to him. Tell him she is his mommy, and just because you watch him doesn't mean you are too lol
@emmajeremy2627, I thought that might be what he was doing at first but he says things like hey mommy come look, or mommy can I have some more juice.
