advice needed: baby girl is 6 weeks old. a combo of breastfed bottle fed and formula fed. lately she has been spitting up more than usual and always seems hungry. always wants to suck on something. hubby says that shes spitting up because she's overfed and to give her a pacifier in between feedings when she crys. I dont like them. what else can I do to stop her from spitting up so much while making sure shes full?

burp her more often and take the bottle away and see if she's content. after you feed her time how long it takes for her to get hungry again

I burped my daughter after every ounce, seemed to help with spitting up, and I also took the pacifier route. I don't/didn't care for them, but she wasn't on one long. it just helped a lot when she was fussy but I didn't want her to overfeed which did make her spit up a lot.

If burping more doesn't help, have her checked for acid reflux. It made my daughter spit up alot and very unhappy. She ended up on medicine and adding cereal to bottles.

@dnhmommy3, have you ever heard of pace feeding? look it up, I do pace feeding with my daughter, its a method that makes sure you don't overfeed baby and it is similar to the way babies breastfeed. There's also some awesome YouTube videos on it. I belong to a breastfeeding group on Facebook and all those who bottle feed too use the pace feeding method.

My son is 7 weeks. Same issue. We're starting him on rice cereal today! He usually won't take a pacifier through out the day unless he's going down for a nap!
