Please nobody be rude toward me for this I do apologize if this is risky or offends anyone but I can't think of anywhere else to share my story and I've thought long and hard before putting this up.
I'm sick and tired of being put down for having to have a c-section, I've been told things like "you're not a real mother, you never knew the pain of child birth", "you took the easy way out, shows what sort of parent you'll be" and "you just let them cut her out like a cancer"
Now that is upsetting enough for any mother who had a c-section to hear but even more so if you didn't have any other option. If I hadn't had a c-section I wouldn't have my beautiful little baby girl here with me today! She was born at a small 4lb 6oz on the 9th of October 2015. I was rushed down for an emergency c-section after finding out that there was a problem with her umbilical chord that could havr stopped her organs from developing properly (luckily it was only her tummy that had any problems) and stopped her from putting on weight. she was only 4 weeks early but her growth had been slowing from 29/30 weeks.
Ever since she was born I was made to feel as if I had failed her. When she was born early, it was my fault. When she was "neglected" a natural birth, it was my fault. When my milk dried up when she was in NICU, it was my fault. I sat beside her incubator every night crying my eyes out, riddled with guilt, after being made to feel as if it was me who put her in there.
Now that she is 3 1/2 months old I realise that everything that happened was out of my control and everything I did actually helped her to survive and thrive, she's doing everything she's meant to be doing at this stage and more... she's just not as heavy as babies her age, but that's what makes her my tiny tot and I am proud to say she is my daughter and I am proud to show off the scar that saved her life :)
So to mothers who were cut open for the health and wellbeing of their babies and themselves, you are strong and have the scar to show it never let anyone make you feel as if you made a bad choice! And to the mother's of babies born too sick or too soon you are the bravest people out there because it takes a lot to leave your baby in somebody else's care every night and you should NEVER feel guilty because not everybody gets to witness a mirical!
Be proud mummies no matter how they were born and no matter how early or late they were! :)
Thanks to anyone that actually read all of this, I've had to get it off my chest for months :)

Of course you are still a mother!! As a matter of fact I applaud you on allowing doctors to cut you open to get her safely out. I can't say I'd want a c section as the recovery can be horrendous but I know that if it means my baby comes out safely then I'd do it. A section is by no means any less of a birth than a "normal" birth. People who say other wise are just cunts. Also, so your milk dried up? So what. That's probably due to the stress of a premature birth and your child being unwell and in NICU. I mean jeez it's not the end of the world that you couldn't breastfeed. Women formula feed all over the world and their baby's are fine. I was formula fed and I didn't die! People need to keep their judgmental comments to themselves. You are a mother! End of!

Wow! I got emotional reading that! Well done for over coming all the horrible things that were said to you, they are truly horrible and completely untrue. You are a strong person and you have a beautiful little girl! Well done! xx

@littlemissscarlett, feck em, I've had 2 emergency C Sections and only have 2 kids so you can imagine the grief but my boys love me and I love them, they don't care where the came out and that's all that matters, oh and you know when people say its the "easy" way, 12 weeks later and the wound still hasn't healed :/ xx

If I hadn't had an emergency section with my son he would have died. It was touch and go for a while. I had PND after he was born as because I didn't have a natural birth didn't feel like a proper mum. I have had 2 further section due to the stress I went through with him and it's just now that I've realised it doesn't matter how the babies come into the world as long as their safe and healthy. Well done for sharing your scar and story

Me and my daughter probably wouldn't be here if I hadn't had a c-section. We went through something that was just as hard as childbirth, just in a different way. and we definitely didn't escape pain! embrace your mummy scar xx
