So I live with my 2 little brothers (3 and 1 1/2) who came down with a bad cold a few nights ago...coughing, congestion, fever, etc.
I'm really worried about my 1 month old getting sick.
I try to keep him away as much as possible obviously, and he is breastfed.
If he does get sick is there anyway he might get a milder case? I just don't want him to have a bad cough and fever!!!

Every time anyone at our house got sick, my daughter never got it. She was breast fed and bottle fed. I hope he doesn't get it! And he definitely should be getting antibodies and immunity from you. :)

He should be getting immunities from you, when he breastfeeds some of the baby's saliva back washes into your breast to be analyzed and then your body sends antibodies back to the baby through your milk...if he does gets sick, or if you get sick, keep breastfeeding and just keep an eye on his temp. As long as it doesn't go over 99.0 I would think he's fine, if it goes higher call a nurses hotline and ask if he should see a doctor right away, or if he starts acting different or lathargic, then take him in regardless! You can help with fever simply by using wet washcloth on his head, and also baby Tylenol but for that you need to ask the doctor because when they're that small they do it by weight....other than that there's not a lot you can do besides keep things around him clean and try to avoid the sick siblings as much as possible so they don't spread it to him! I'm sure it'll be okay, even if he does catch something I'm sure he'll get over it quickly 😄
