Possibly. Every woman is different. Exclusive pumping takes a lot of dedication and has to be done as often as baby would nurse. It's hard but it's possible!
I'm breast feeding too right now and hoping he will take a bottle from his Dad. Should I introduce the bottle now or wait? I hear different "facts" from everyone. I'm still really engorged. Pumping isn't helping they fill right back up lol
Okay! So most likely your milk just came in the last couple days. It's totally normal to be engorged at first. You can pump for a couple minutes until you're comfortable but don't pump until you're empty. If you keep pumping until you're empty you're signaling to your body that you need to produce MORE milk. Your supply will start to regulate the next week or two. Keep feeding baby on demand. Pump just enough to relive the enforcement but not until empty, and you'll start to feel better soon! If you want to use the pumped milk in a bottle, as long as it's a slow flow bottle you can have dad give a bottle to give you a break here and there, but it's best for your supply to try to have babe to breast as often as possible (even though it's physically and emotionally exhausting!) I hope that helps! Kellymom.com is an amazing resource too! Lots of good research backed info on breastfeeding and pumping!
