Ok so I posted this same question earlier and got one response and was hoping for a few more. I'm set to be induced Monday with cervidil and I was hoping to hear some experiences with being induced or about the cervidil or both. Just kind of wondering what to expect.

I was induced with Pitocin, for almost 12 hours. I was also on Magnesium, which works against pitocin. I ended up having to have an emergency c section - I had HELLP Syndrome though.

@lovemyson_610, does magnesium have a bad effect on Pitocin if you bathe in Epsom salt before delivery or just if you're on it during? I was thinking of having a nice relaxing Epsom salt bath Sunday night.

I don't know about the Epsom salt, but I wouldn't think it would have an effect on being induced. Magnesium is used to stop contractions and prevent strokes. So that's why it was working against the Pitocin.

@lovemyson_610, oh I see thanks. I didn't know that. I'm getting induced with cervidil first because I'm not even dilating yet so pitocin would come after if necessary. Did the doctor break your water?

I was put to sleep & had an emergency c section bc my blood pressure was so high. @missyowl92

@missyowl92 you're welcome :) I was only dilated 4 cm, but that's what I was when I went into the hospital lol.
