Your doctor does a 12 week anatomy scan???? Whaaaaaaat?! Normally doctors will wait until 20 weeks to do the anatomy scan. I found out at 15 weeks with my second but I had to pay for it out of pocket and it was at a keepsake place, not the doctor's office.

When I was pregnant with my daughter I found out at 14 weeks we had genetic testing done.

I found out I was having a girl through a 10 week blood test and I've had several ultrasounds.

yeah same here we have to pay out of pocket its an option not something in have to do @kimberlyyyy I wouldn't so early cause I don't think the results are accurate.

Dr told me 18 tell 20

@a_bailey, that's more accurate, but my ins won't cover that unless medically necessary.

I had a 4 week, 5week, 6 week ,8 week, 12 week, 14,week 16week ultrasound and I have another one at 19 week and after that one I won't have another one until 28 weeks.

yeah. it's pretty expensive too.

we're finding out at 20. my insurance doesn't cover the blood test, either.

my ins. covered mine because it tests for downsyndrome

The blood test is pretty accurate. As long as it's done at the correct time. It does have a chance of being wrong, but not as often as people say. I had my done at 13 weeks, found out I was having a girl. Confirmed at 20 week ultrasound then again last Thursday!

I'll find out at 18 weeks, when I get my anatomy scan done.

@pamcakes, that's not true, it's elective. I have government insurance and they covered it and I wasn't at risk for anything. They also have payment plans!! They are really good at working with you🙂

My doctor made me wait til 19 weeks

the blood test is very accurate. I had it done at 12 weeks and it was 0 right

They gave me a blood test. All you do is have your blood drawn and within two weeks the results come back. look it up. it's called the harmony...

there are other blood tests out there too.

@shalene, you HAVE to ask for it. they normally don't offer it.

I found out at 16 weeks with my first, and 15 with my second through ultrasound. But they were both elective, so I paid for them.

16 weeks with my first son and 17 weeks with my second. Both by ultrasound.

I had genetic testing at 15 wks

At my 12 weeks ultrasound for Down syndrome testing the doctor said "I can't tell you for sure, but it looks like a little girl" ..... Sure enough, we found out about 2 months later that we were indeed having a little girl. I know the wait sucks..
