my doctor did mine at 9 weeks, but he checked the babies heart rate when I hit 14 weeks and again at 18 weeks, and an ultrasound schedule for next tuesday when I'm 20w+5d

I was told with OHP they typically only do 2 unless more is needed for other reasons.

They do more if you are high risk.

I had a ultrasound at 9 weeks and 19 weeks. I just recently had another one at 27 weeks because of my daughters umbilical cord. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have had one.

could I request another ? I just don't feel jumping from 6weeks to 20 is ok ... its a huge gap I feel ...and I would like to hear the heartbeat.

yes thats normal. my sister in law didnt even have her first one until the anatomy scan at 20weeks. I had 3 with both of my pregnancies because the first I had low amniotic fluid and this one they didnt get good enough view if babys spine but everything turned out fine. Guess the less ultrasounds means less problems lol

@bkrettler11497, they check the heartbeat every appointment and you hear it a lot. they use this little doppler thing on the outside to hear the heartbeat. no need to see them between
