Didn't know where else I could express my feelings. I've been going swimming 3 or 4 times a week since I was 15 weeks. I would be in the pool minding my own business on my own, everyone there was supportive and if I needed more space would let me by or help me if I was struggling to get out on the ladder. Until recently when other women that were not in the pool decided it was their turn to give me their opinion on what they thought about me swimming while having a huge bump. That didn't bother me to much. But it was when they realised I am going to be a teen mum they decided to start making rather harsh comments normally I would brush it off but for some reason I couldn't let go of these comments. I haven't been back since and am paying for a swimming membership that I no longer use due to the comments and how they made me feel

Awe hun, It is terrible when you get reactions like that. I'm 20 and people still think I am too young to be a mum. But that is OK. Let them judge hun. Because your age doesn't define what kind of parent you'll be. I've seem older parents/mothers than myself that seriously don't deserve to have kids because of the way they treat them! All you do know is that you are going to be a great mother! Don't care what other people say! Go swimmimg hun! Hold your head up high! xx

You shouldn't have needed to tell them your age anyway :) Most people I know are teen mums and they have done such a great job! xx

I'm 25 this year and people have tried to tell me I'm too young. I just tell them to mind their own damn business. There is nothing wrong with having a child if you want to have one. I'm not condoning 12 year olds having babies however only a few hundred years ago it was the norm for 13-14 year olds to marry and have families. It's only in the last so many years that the sexual age of consent was changed to 16 and the marriage age was 18 etc. People are just judgmental. They should be applauding you for having the courage to be a young mom. Not all women could cope but you will. You'll do fine

I'm 18 too, 19 on Sunday. And I know how you feel, just prove them all wrong! You know what you're capable of, parenting won't be easy, but it gets better and it's SO worth it x

I'm 30 now but had my daughter at 17 and believe me she is such a good girl with manners and a really good outlook on life ... basically I'm saying it don't matter if you 17 or 30 bring them up correctly and you'll be fine .As for everyone smile and carry on swimming :) x

Some people really have to learn to keep their unwanted comments to themselves. You're young but 18 is not too young! You and your baby will be fine. Being a mum is never easy but being a good mum hasn't got anything to do with age. Seems to be those women were out to tear into someone starting making comments about exercising when pregnant. How ignorant. You've done the right thing for you and your bump by staying active and healthy. Swimming is great exercise especially when pregnant. I know it's hard to ignore hurtful comments, especially when you're pregnant and you're about to meet your baby. But try to focus on the wonderful little person you're about to meet! Those women are not worth your time
