Camiyha (ca-MYE-ah) Renesmè (rin-es-MAY) Blake. Born December 9, 2015. 4 lbs, 3 ounces. 18 inches. This is what castor oil has done for her. Jennifer (mom) had a healthy pregnancy except Miss Camiyha grew slower than most babies in the womb. Mom wanted baby and her father to have the same birthday, so she drank half a bottle of castor oil. We could easily quibble over the quantity but the fact is, Baby Camiyha was NOT ready. At 34 weeks she needed more time to catch up on growth and development. As a result of the castor oil, Mom had strong contractions--contractions that were too harsh, too early, and put too much stress on Camiyha. The baby voided in the womb, and in the hours before Mom decided to go to labor and delivery, she also inhaled about 70% of the meconium she had produced so far. When she was finally born, there was only a little on her body but her tiny lungs were filled. A specialist from Children's Healthcare was willing to suction the little baby's airways when she was only 3 days old. Now she is fighting a resistant infection due to having the meconium in her lungs so long. The doctors made the best decisions with what they had--a. ery sick little one who still may not survive. IF YOU NEED INDUCTION, DO NOT BE AS SELFISH AS MY COUSIN. CASTOR OIL MIGHT NOT HURT YOU ... BUT THEN AGAIN IT MIGHT. MY FAMILY HAD TO SPEAK TO THE CHAPLAIN TODAY, BECAUSE CAMIYHA IS NOT THRIVING AND DOES NOT BREATHE WELL OFF THE VENT!!! SHE IS NOT EVEN A WEEK OLD AND WE ARE ALREADY FACED WITH LOSING HER, ALL BECAUSE HER MOTHER GOT SOME BAD ADVICE AND WAS SOOOOO READY TO NOT BE UNCOMFORTABLE ANYMORE. Wonder how uncomfortable she feels now... BTW there is no judgment here. I share in hopes you won't be as impatient/selfish as this mom, because not all mistakes can be pacified with "I didn't know" & not all booboos can be healed by bandage. #prayersForCamiyha #comeOnBabyGirl
