Hopefully you won't. But you will need something clean to tie off the umbilical cord. Lots of towels and a warm towel or blanket to wrap baby in until the ambulance gets there. You should also ask your doctor.

once labor starts you can be in labor for hours, just make sure you have a couple people on stand by when the time gets close!
