my baby is just about two weeks old, and she had been pooping regularly every day. she hasn't pooped since yesterday…

it's pretty normal for a 2 week old. my LO went a few days without pooping. babies that young haven't learned how to use their muscles to push yet. it just takes some time. my doctor recommended a qtip with Vaseline in her bum to get things started and it works like a charm every time.

It's fine for them to miss a day or 2. My doctor said any longer than 3 then you should contact your doctor

and don't do the vaseline with qtip too much if you decide to. my ped said only if they seem like they are having trouble pooping..too much of that and it will be hard for her to learn to poop on her own with the constant help

we had to use the qtip when my son started solid foods, poor guys little bum always got tore up.

My pedi said its normal for new borns to go a full 7 days without pooping as long as you are still getting wet diapers. If you want to assist in popping check her temp with her bottom. You can also given baby a tummy massage clock wise 15 times then take the knees to the chest and hold. Or you can purchase this gas supplement.

@bryaxtonsmommy, you're right. they get used to you helping them out so they have a hard time learning on their own. I only did it when she was very fussy about it.
