I'm a FTM and trying to get my baby to sleep through the night. What are some tricks you ladies…

my son is eight months old and still doesnt sleep through the night. my 15 month old niece also doesnt sleep through the night.

My little girl is 7months and she started sleeping through the night at 2 months. Swaddling helped us.

He's too young for that at the moment....nothing really that you can do besides ride it out. Having a newborn is tough but before you know it he will sleeping all night long, just try and be patient and go with it....that's newborn life for you lol.

in another month you can maybe try starting a bed time routine, and try to stick with it as closely as you can. like my boys know around 6 they get to roll around naked on a soft blanket, then know bath time is at 630 and they get a bottle at 7 n go to bed, but eventually if you stick with some kind of routine your baby will eventually realize ok it's bed time, it's dark, the white noise machine is on, ok time for sleep. but that's just what worked for me n my boys

well with my son its was hard at first he would sleep much at night until he was 3 months even the Dr. said it takes a while until they do . but you should try to do is have they sleep in a dark room no TV. on and have baby music on . but every baby is different my son is 4 months he goes to bed at 9 or 10 and he wakes up at 8 or 9 .

Maybe I'm moving too fast. Everyone tells me at 8 weeks he should atleast sleep 6 hours straight. He's 7 weeks.

My son has always been a good baby. Only woke up once since he was a newborn. And that was at 5am. I wanted that to stop so i just let him cry and he'll eventually fall asleep

My baby is 7 weeks sleeps from 10-5am she would sleep longer but I wake her up to feed & SWADDLING WORKED!!

Well I also make sure she's in a routine so she knows night & day now. It wasn't easy because she was in the NICU for a week before we brought her home so she would be up all night just staring. But you have to start your routine & be very consistent! I give my baby a bath every night at 9:30! Lotion her up & swaddle her & feed her 4oz. Swaddling is very simple. If you want I'll send you pictures step by step of how I swaddle her... Right now she's in my arms she woke up at 5 like usual diaper change & fed she'll be out till around 8 or 9am if I'm lucky ☺️ I also make sure I have a schedule with her during the day ☺️ when she wakes up from a nap I feed her only 2 oz play with her to keep her awake & an hr later I feed her the other 2 & she's out. I know you asked how I swaddle but I thought I'd let you know what it took for us to get to this schedule ☺️ you can YouTube how to swaddle or if you want I can send you pictures of how I swaddle with a stuffed animal lol

@jboogie, do you still swaddle at 7 months?? I've been looking into starting this gradually at 4 months

girl I totally understand being exhausted! lol I've got 2 and I'm a single mama, but trust me it'll go faster than you think and your baby will be sleeping thru the night before you know it! and that first night your baby does sleep thru the night you won't because your gonna be like I know that he's gonna wake up soon and he doesn't lol! not to much longer! hang in there, cuz your gonna miss those days believe it or not lol I do!

@lilshortgirl, you are soo lucky. My baby has been congested so I try not to bathe him every night I feel like it gets worse every time. Thanks so much for the info I'm gonna try to be a little more strict with his schedule

@twinmamma2015, it wouldn't be so bad if the last few hours he didn't wake up so much. I already don't go back to sleep I'd rather stay up than wake up every hour. 😏

Yes for now I do. I need to transition soon according to what I read. But for now she doesn't try to wiggle and turn over while she is swaddled. When she wakes up she just coo's till I wake up. She sleeps from about 10 till 9 now.

true! it was killer when I first got home cuz the boys didn't eat at the same time 😕 so I know what you mean

@katiek710, you're welcome! My baby started being congested too! I thought she was getting sick so I didn't bather her for 3 Days she hated it! Turns out congestion is very normal on babies, aslong as baby has no fever or cough you should be fine. I have a humidifier & the frida works magic!!!

@katiek710, I swaddle her and I think that helped alot.

@jboogie, nice! I'm not going to transition till I feel like she's fighting it. I was told to transition slowly, like one foot out, then the other then both etc. ☺️
