So I had a BPP today at 37 weeks. I've had to start weekly BPP's starting at 35 weeks due to being a heavier momma. I guess they started a new protocol that if your bmi is over 35 they start doing it; higher risk of stillbirth blah blah whatever. I've had no issues, but if my insurance pays for it then whatever.
Well I got a 6/8. All they didn't see was the fetal breathing. Which they saw at my BPP last week. And apparently it can be hard to catch. Well I was scheduled to see a doctor after. One I've never seen before. And he was talking about how if I'd scored a 5/8 he would have considered induction TODAY. also that being heavier he doesn't want me going past 39/40 weeks. Even having no issues whatsoever. He ordered an NST which she passed. Even though it took awhile. She always seems to be sleeping during my appointments and so active at home.
I'm just irritated because my main doctor has never once mentioned induction! Why is it'll because I'm slightly heavier he would want it done? My baby has literally been doing perfect as well as my symptoms and blood pressure have been perfect. Just a breeze.
I wish I could see my main OB all the time but with my horrible work schedule I just try and see who I can when I'm able to. As it is I'm already a week behind on my appointments. My 37 week appointment I'll be 37w6d.
Whatever. If they try to induce I'll just refuse.

they just love forcing people into induction.

Two kids and I don't know what BPP stands for. I was induced with my first and it wasn't too bad. They probably just want to save their asses.

@mrsgeorge, right? like there's literally no medical reason for it besides being heavier. and there have been larger women than me that had their baby and it was completely fine.

@kimberlyyyy, it's an ultrasound to test movement, fetal breathing, growth etc
Morgan·
well, they can't force you, thankfully. I wouldn't do it unless it's medically necessary.

Oh. Ok, I had that with my second baby. He passed at the very last minute. Like out of the 30 minute test he wasn't breathing until the last 3 minutes. It sucked.

@mrsgeorge, yeah I know. I won't let them lol @kimberlyyyy yeah. I heard it's really hard to catch. yeah they didn't see it this time but they did at my last one. plus I feel her hiccup all the time and that's a sign that's she's practicing breathing

that's bologna if you don't wanna get induced you shouldn't have to be forced to.
