my oldest used them and even threw her last one away by the age of two! I will defiantly use them this time too!
my fiance says giving a pacifier to a child is like giving them falls hope, hear such on this thing that you aren't going to get any nutrition or satisfaction from. it is like lying to your kid. plus they. cause teeth problem in the future, and some time become a security thing. Id rather them have a blanket or stuffed animal. than a god damed pacifier fucking up there teeth. you asked for my opinion don't get mad if you don't like it.
I used them with my son until he was 6 or 7 months then he stopped wanting them. Going to use them again with my daughter
A lot of studies show it helps prevent SIDS and since I know someone that just lost a 1 month old to SIDS I'm using them for sure. I work in orthodontics and it does not effect their teeth unless they have continued use after age 5. Only down side is when you have to take it away
Absolutely not happening with me lol I will go above & beyond to ensure my son doesn't use one. If they never start on it, there is nothing to quit later on down the road. I'm not going to be one who puts it in their child's mouth when they are fussy to get them to quit. Going to try lots of other soothing methods :)
We used them and I loved it, but at 6 months I was going to just throw them away, I didn't want her using them past then, just my personal preference, thankfully she weaned herself off of them. With this baby I plan on doing the same, using them until 6 months. I only used it because my daughter wanted to eat constantly and I didn't want to overfeed, so she self soothed with it.
If you're going to breastfeed then you don't want to give him a pacifier because he will get confused and won't latch.
@mommy_of_3, breastfeeding until he starts getting teeth them I'm gonna pump
@amorasmom, orthodontic research shows it only messes with their teeth after the age of 5
They are helpful when they are little and nothing comforts them except sucking. I had one for my son. He's almost two and he sleeps with it, but that's it. I'm trying to wean him off but it's difficult. My daughter on the other hand is breastfed and she uses me as a bink, which is fine with me because we can both sleep like that. It's really all in personal opinion. Some peds say it helps prevent SIDS.
my baby has one and honestly it helps her relax and calm down after I feed her if she gets fussy
I want my baby to have one also, I'm just trying to get everyone's opinion on it lol @greedypreggo970
@kyleeemariee, my first son had one. I used it at night to help him sleep but after a couple months I gave it to him less and less. He had no problems.
