I'm so annoyed. They only thing I've really ever specified that I absolutely wanted to buy new was a car seat and we were given two used ones...both without the base and one is bright pink... I can't even find a place that sells car seat bases in store and I don't want to buy one online that might not be completely compatible. 😤
I should just save myself the trouble and buy a new one right? It's for my child's safety and my own peace of mind... Not even a debate, right?

babies r us sells car seat bases by themselves in store and online! so does Buy Buy Baby.

I 100% agree with you.. I absolutely refuse to use used car seats or any other safety things.. and since I've found a full time job, we will be buying everything new for our daughter.. I feel like it's rude to turn things down so I always accept, in just going to be giving the used stuff away to those who need it more than me.

Its considerably safer to buy a new one if you can afford it. It was a nice gesture, but I couldn't use a used one every day and be sure of the safety.
