@not.that.basic, that's why It's a hard choice. my boyfriend has a black camaro and we wash it every single week but it still gets yucky. but he says the red is "so flashy and I speed to much, I'll get to many tickets" but I mean, I'll be in my brand new car, with my brand new baby who will be born any day now. I highly doubt I'll be speeding honestly.

@sarahemccormick, my boyfriend also said with the candy apple red, with the metal flakes in it, to fix a scratch it my paint will cost a LOT because it's an expensive paint job.

@sarahemccormick, I work at GEICO and we don't rate by color of vehicle. I'm pretty sure that's a myth. Color of vehicle is not an indicator of whether or not you'll have an accident lol. Plus the coverage that pays for theft is basically the cheapest one and it wouldn't effect cost that much if it were true. @crunchymomma The only reason I'd be apprehensive with red is I'd worry it would stand out too much and I'd get pulled over more.

@not.that.basic, buttttt since you work at Geico, would you possibly be able to tell me WHY the heck my rate never stayed the same every month, was always fluctuating, the rate raised up pretty high and nobody could evet give us a solid explanation for it? Thats why we dropped Geico 😕

@sarahemccormick, that's exactly why I dropped Geico for the same reason. Went to State Farm and my rates have been stable for 3 years. What a joke 😂😂

@sarahemccormick, Honestly I can't without looking at it. Its normal for them to decrease a little every month because of installment fees lowering as you pay off the balance. If it goes up on your renewal it may be a rate increase for your state or due to driving record or discounts falling off. If it's during your policy term it's normally from making policy adjustments. Insurance companies cannot make rate adjustments until renewals or reissues. @lostinct82mj sorry you had a bad experience. trust me when I say every single company has rate increases. Each company can see all of them and GEICO is by far one of the more stable companies. You've probably just been lucky up until now, but this past year was bad for rate increases across the board.
