🚨 Okay ladies, SERIOUS QUESTION ALERT ! 🚨
I breastfed my baby from day one. Three months ago I temporarily stopped due to sore, inflamed and a bleeding nipple. I gave it some time to heal on its own. I still produce milk, and want to continue...except now she denies breast. So I was intending to pump, but now (about three weeks) my nipple has been peeling, scabbing and bleeding constantly leaving no chance to heal! Any ideas, mom's? Remedies? What should I do?

that's how I was when my son was born and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why it was hurting so bad. everyone told me I had a bad latch then I found out my son is tongue and lip tied and by that time I had dried up. maybe it's a possibility.

^^Was just going to say both of those. that sort of reaction from breastfeeding means bad/poor latch. you should get baby checked. also, express some milk on to your nipples and let air dry. breast milk does wonders

for mine I thought it was a bad latch but went and saw a lactation consultant and told the latch was good. then I took to fb to see what they thought and was told by a bunch of people he may be tongue tied. I have never heard of tongue ties till then so I went back to a lactation consultant and sure enough to he was tongue tied and lip tied.

yeah, i kbow it was bad latching towards the end. she was doing great! perfect latch and everything, especially when my bf was around, for some reason he got her to latch perfectly. then he went back to work and it all went down hill lol. I got her tongue check out. doc said she was fine. @a12j14carl

my son's pediatrician swore up and down my son's tongue was fine too till I demanded to get a referral to a ENT and get it checked out by someone who specializes in that. ( we are in the military so we had to get a referral) have you tried those gel nipple pads at walmart? those were amazing with me. I was also told to try the nipple shield that it will work too.

it can be tongue or lip tie. find someone who specializes because they'll check the right way (which isn't what you think) and oh no 😢 have you tried lanolin or coconut oil?
