Went to my first appt today and they couldn't find the heartbeat. She said its normal bc I'm still early 9 weeks 3 days. I didn't get an ultrasound and when I asked when I will get one she said at 18 weeks. How come everyone else is getting them so early and I won't get mine til later. Go back in four weeks.

I guess every dr is different. Mine did a transvaginal ultrasound at 8 weeks to confirm pregnancy, genetic screening ultrasound at 12 weeks, and anatomy scan ultrasound at 20 weeks

It really just depends on your doctor's office. I've gotten an ultrasound every 4-5 weeks since 8w3d. I know people who have gotten 2 ultrasounds their entire pregnancy with a singleton and I know people who get them every 4 weeks with a singleton. Just depends where you go. :)

yeah every doctor is different although I feel like they should do a vaginal ultrasound for you to confirm how far along you are and also that baby is okay to set your mind at ease, i had one at 5 w 2 at 6w and one 10/11w my doctor found the heartbeat with the Doppler at 10 w 3 days

I originally was going to only have 1 at 20 weeks, and when I switched doctors she had me to an ultrasound at 12 weeks. it really is generally doctor preferance.

I found out I was pregnant at 3 weeks at the health department. i had my first appointment with my OB at 5 weeks 3 days they did an ultrasound but couldn't tell my due date yet but knew how far along I was bc of the growth of the baby, I went back at 9 weeks 1 day and they heard the heartbeat and gave me a due date... they told me that 9 weeks and 3 days was the soonest they've ever heard the heartbeat before my baby.

and I'll be 35 weeks tmrw and ive had 3 ultrasounds total so far. I believe I'll have one more in a few weeks. good luck :)

I heard the heartbeats of both of my boys at 8 weeks 3 days.

When I couldn't get in to see my Dr soon enough with each of my pregnancies, I would go to the emergency room and tell them I was for sure pregnant and I was having bad cramps and they will do an ultrasound for you right then. This was the only way I could put my mind at ease since I've had so many miscarriages.

depends on the dr... bc of my history I am suppose to have one at every appt. I had one at 7w4d... and the next time (bc I'm out of state) I'll be around 11 or 12 weeks.. but, I heard my heart beat at 7 weeks. I'm saying a prayer for you
