best way to bring up milk supply?
I already make 2oz per boob at a time
but I want to make more since my
preemie princess will be coming home soon.
I want to make sure she has plenty to eat
plus I wanna make it to a whole year pumping
so far it's only been 2 months..
any help, tips or advice ?
you are amazing. I think I would have given up if I had to exclusively pump. You have my respect!!
I have a good supply, but at the hospital since I have to bring it all up there at the moment. I drink a lot of water .
thank you both for the tips @mom2thehs & @harleysmomma1228
not so far. I usually put a little bit of milk and honey in it. I usually only get headaches of I'm dehydrated, make sure you're drinking lots of water!!
@gypsy.soul2, ,thank you for the advice, I appreciate it!! I wanna make it to a full year. since I didn't try at all with my first I feel bad
@harleysmomma1228 do you ever get headaches with the tea?
the only thing I recommend is fenugreek 3x a day and BATCHES of lactation cookies l.. like 3x a week lol
ok then definitely pump throughout the hour every 2 to 3 hours.. watch out for oversupply bc that will hurt your boobs and the milk won't be the best part of your supply on baby.. hindmilk etc etc. make sure your pump flanges are changed periodically too for the sake of your nipples lol @xxmegankxx
@gypsy.soul2, I'm not going to breast feed, I'm going to continue pumping when she comes home. I know 2 oz is a lot but I wanna make more to make sure has enough when she does come home. she has about 40+ bottles that are frozen in the nicu already. I want a good stock pile
other methods may actually mess with your supply and let down against baby.. join Expression! Lactation group on fb, I'm apart of it and I love all the advice and there's so many mommas of preemies who ebf them that can help
2oz is really good for the start. contrary to popular belief, the only way to up it is to keep latching or nursing baby bc BF is all about supply and demand.. another thing you can do is pump every 20 min every 2 or 3 hours but try to avoid that lol.. make sure to pace feed til baby can get a good deep latch on you too ♡♡ @xxmegankxx
awe thank you so much @sarah.griffy
