How can I get food assistance in Florida? I applied more then one time and nothing seems to work

Have you tried applying for wic? I've been trying myself for food stamps and they aren't budging but everyone's telling me to try wic too

I have wic. But I don't like it. Because all they give you is milk ( a tons of milk that you don't really need) cheese, juices, cereal and beans. @jasminedw

do you have Medicaid?

Yeah that's not very helpful , Florida seems to have it pretty messed up with food assistance . It's like you have to have no job at all to be able to get it .

I got mine right away.I said I was pregnant & have no money to buy the food I need after paying bills,I told them I already was eligible for wic so I should be for food stamps. I love wic though...I go through the 4 gallons of milk easily lol I love milk.

That's ridiculous! I am also in Florida.I would keep calling & raising hell til someone did something.

You basically have to act like you are homeless. It is soo stupid

You guys are probably NOT pregnant enough. You have to be like 18 or 20 weeks pregnant to get food assistance just because you are pregnant. Or have another child under 5. I didn't get until I was 4 months, but got ever since! Also if you don't want milk from WIC you just have to say your body can't handle lactose or cheese, they have a tofu option. @jasminedw @lilmonma33 @brilee101 @kirstenxoxo

I have a 3 year old I finally get wic and foodstamps, when my husband lost his job I had to do everything myself while pregnant. so I'm super happy that I finally get them

@igotababy2 Just go in there fill out all the paperwork they give u to the best of ur knowledge. I get food assistance too. There is 7 of us all together. So I get quite a bit. Jus make sure u get all ur papers that they ask for to them. U will have an appointment with them to talk to a person. N then they will tell u how much u will get. ext. It's really not that hard to get it. I hope I've helped u. Good luck sweetheart.

I got it right away,when I first found out I was pregnant so that's not true...doesn't matter how far along you are the baby has to eat regardless they should give it right away like they did for me @tahtahme

You might not be Eligible, I applied with DCF and they approved me right away, I got wic and food stamps. Depends on your income, how many in household. Etc.
