Question about the dentist when pregnant: They are wanting to do xrays today, and being that Im pregnant, Im not sure thats safe. I do have a note from my midwife saying I can have them done but that I have to be double shielded, whatever that means. Has anyone else has dental xrays done when pregnant, and is it safe?

I got some done in November, a full series and it was pretty quick. My OB had to send an authorization form giving clearance to the dentist. It was fine.

I would avoid it, wait until after you have the baby. don't take the risk.

I didn't get xrays at the dentist, but I had them on my hand & arm last month after a car wreck. They just put a vest on me & everything was fine.

I did and it was fine, what they do is just put more of those protection vests on you. It is quick to.
