I'm starting to feel like when our baby is born I don't really want anyone else holding him/her apart from me and my partner... I suffer from an anxiety disorder and the thought of other people, even my parents, holding my baby makes me feel very uncomfortable 😕

My partner doesn't want anyone holding our bubs :) he's really protective...even over people that touch my stomach. I don't mind my mum and sisters holding my baby. But anyone else I think its a No! x

When my bubba is really newborn then just me and my partner are holding him/her :) But your baby going to other people is a way of them developing other bonds and of course social skills :) But it is totally up to you...who you want to hold your child. I'm sure that protective instinct won't be as strong as months pass by...infact you may be happy for someone to take them off your hands for a bit to do simple tasks or have a rest etc X

@littlebearbaby, I started off fine with the idea, everyone wants to hold the new baby don't they... I have spoken to my partner about it and he said if he feels I'm too bad with it, I.e. freaking out when someone holds our baby, then he wants me to get counselling or something :/

I won't have a choice. Pakistanis all pile round each others houses when they have babies but I just wanna be left a lone to settle into motherhood and that won't happen

@ashleighholly, I have counselling 😂😂😂.... on a serious note tho I was abused as a child so that's probably why I feel like this

@littlebearbaby, oh god, that sounds like my worst nightmare! I have very strict rules for when our baby arrives :) no visitors for at least half an hour to an hour after birth and then when we come home we want a day or two to settle with no interference :) xx

@ashleighholly, I know the feeling! I suffer from anxiety also, I know I won't mind my mum dad and little sister holding him, but the thought of anyone else fills me with dread, I know I'm going to have to eventually, he needs to build bonds and relationships plus I don't want my child having separation anxiety so I know it'll be the best for baby! Just hang on in there, even if you sit right next to the person cradling your child, it'll soon ease. I'm 26 weeks and hate people even touching my tummy, but I'm trying to get used to it. It's a way of healing for me, I'll soon start to feel better about it! Just hang tight, think about what's best for baby x
