I'm confused .... I get an ultra sound every time I go but for some reason they're making it seem like this 16-20wk ultra sound is different, is it? I have to drink 4-5 glasses of water, hold my urine, have a full bladder.... But any other ultra sound they don't require that.

It is. It's an anatomy scan! The full bladder pushes on baby so they can get better measurements and whatnot.

They might be doing the ultrasound to check baby's brain and the spine and the gender

I didn't need to drink any water before my anatomy scan and they got perfect pictures of everything

It just depends on where you go. I didn't have to have a full bladder for mine, but my sister was at a different office and had to for hers. I'm not sure why though. But you're gonna get your anatomy scan! So that's exciting. Half of the time I had no idea what she was pointing out, but it was really cool to see the feet and spine and the parts of the body that were obvious. :)

I went into my anatomy scan with a full bladder and the lady made me go pee. I would drink a little before going in but not 4 glasses. Seems kind of extreme. I was in pain because I drank too much lol. Have fun!! This ultrasound is the most exciting.
