even the really good insurance companies won't pay for ultrasounds that are not medically required. so usually you'll get 2, one to see how far along you are and the anatomy scan around 16-20 weeks to measure all of the baby's organs and limbs and make sure the baby is growing on track so that you have the correct due date, then they'll tell you the gender.

Well before I got a doctor I went to the women's care center and got one and more or less said they would use that one so I will not be knowing the gender of my child

go to the ER tell them you slipped and fell generally they will have to do an ultrasound to check on the baby

personally when was pregnant with my son I slipped and fell down stairs in my driveway and they did one for me just to put my mind at ease and to check on him.

even if they use the ultrasound from the women's care center, which is weird that they are, usually doctors offices do not recognize places like that as official medical records (I used my local pregnancy center for both of my pregnancies in the beginning) they still have to do a 2nd ultrasound to confirm that your baby is growing on track and all their organs are developing properly. just make sure they don't do the next ultrasound until you're at least 16/17 weeks.

I got 2 ultrasounds and usually they say they won't give you a 3rd but none at all is ridiculous! I made my doctor send me for a 3rd one because I didn't have one since 19 weeks and I finally got a 3rd one at 36 weeks and I'm glad I did because ( not saying this to make you nervous) they found out the cord is wrapped around his neck and so now they know and know to be a little cautious during delivery.
