I wouldn't do that at all of you are trying to breastfeed

I agree with @mrsgeorge if you're breastfeeding let them suckle and pacify as much as possible. It will help your supply.

he's breastfeeding great so I don't want to mess it up but he gets fussy sometimes because he just wants to suck. @mrsgeorge @harleysmomma1228

A pacifier helps when they are sleeping as well as it kind of help with SIDS

I'm breast feeding and my girl does just fine with a paci. I guess it just depends on the baby.

if you get the right kind of pacifier (natural shape or the the Soothie ones they give you at the hospital) it won't affect breastfeeding at all. they have newborn size pacifiers

I was breastfeeding at the hospital and they got a paci there, babies like to suck for comfort as well. but they honestly don't use them anymore. they did for a lil bit but haven't used one in 3 months.

My doc said you shouldn't give a breast fed baby a binkie till at least a month old so they don't have nipple confusion

My daughter would not settle unless she had a nipple in her mouth. I couldn't sleep at all and had bleeding blisters on my nips so when a nurse suggested I try a paci, I wanted to but had said I never would. I was worried about breastfeeding confusion and malformation of the mouth. She showed me a 'soothie' which isn't shaped like a normal paci and does not cause confusion. She took it and finally we both slept so it was a win win!

I was breastfeeding for the first few months with the meds I was on I couldn't care for him only allowed to hold him while feeding so my husband took care of him. He gave it to him that night & he did fine
