Ok ladies I need some advice, if I put a jacket on the boys they get super sweaty and hot and kinda squished when in the…

No big/puffy jackets in the car seat! They can compress in an accident and they won't get the protection they need. It's best to bring the jackets with and just have them in a thin fleece or sweatshirt and then put the jacket on when you get where you're going. I use a thin fleece for my little guy and then cover him in a blanket.

What kind of jacket. Puffy jackets should NEVER be worn in the carseat

@embersandash, ok that's what I've been doing but it just feels like it's still cold for them. Maybe I will try thicker blankets.

I saw on the news that when there in the car seats don't put big fluffy jackets or thick materials bc it doesn't keep the babies safe they flop out of the car seat in a collision. To bundle blankets on top of the strapped in car seat if I can find the video I'll send it to you . I'm just sharing what I saw on the news I don't know correct ways though for everything else :)

@kmally, ya I never put them in the car seat with a big jacket, I do have fleece jackets that I can use

@babybermea, yeah I usually put the blankets n stuff on top of them when they're buckled in, but like today trying to get them in the stroller from the car just those few seconds it gets cold and I feel bad

I know!! And there so tiny you don't want them exposed to the wind :/ that's a good question though glad you asked bc it's something you don't think of until your in the situation some one can help us both learn bc my baby will come any day and I don't want to move him around with out knowing how to properly do it :/

@babybermea, I mean it's only a few seconds that they're "exposed" sort of speak but that's not much time to us but to a lil one that seems like a long time.... I thought the fleece jackets were to thin to do anything but maybe I'll try it. I do think I need different carseats though cuz they sweat soooooooo bad in the ones I have, that's one reason why I haven't tried using the fleece jackets yet

what I do is put the jacket on but don't zip or button it up. put arms through straps then fasten the buckles where it is touching them like it is supposed to then fasten the jacket up and you should be ready to go

thinner jacket. thick ones arent safe. tuck a blankey around them in the seat after buckling them in. and put a blanket around them in the stroller.

@damiensmommy2015, @gypsy.soul2 yeah I think ima go get thicker blankets!! The ones I have keep them warm but that's at home, ima look for heavier blankets.
