Any moms in the military? I'm pregnant and in the military and have a few questions...

I am active duty Navy

I'm national guard army....I was given the option on whether or not to stay or get out and I don't know what to do...@lun2016

it costs so much to have a baby as a civilian and insurance is super high. ..at least stay in till after the baby and stable enough...I plan on extending for two years because my contract will be over by the time my baby turns 8 months...it isn't hard being in while pregnant, it's actually probably the easiest money you'll make

I would recommend not making the decision until you have a more level head I got out while pregnant and I wish I hadn't.

I'm Air Force and was never told to get out. I don't know why they would tell you. Your base should be supporting you and helping you. It's also good money and they have good resources.

Thing is right after i get done with my 180 days we leave for a deployment and I'm part of that I don't think I am emotionally stable enough to be away from my baby and then I had to quit my job because I got pregnant and do a different job and I'm literally miserable...I don't want to be in anymore...I'm 21 so I'm still on my parents insurance and my boyfriend is in the military she he is getting the babies insurance I'm not worried about money my civilian job pays really good! I just don't know what to do cuz I don't want my family to be disappointed in me for being a quitter @elenam08 @lun2016 @mczinzo

If you think it is best for your family then get out. You need to do what's best for your family and none of us can make that decision for you. No one should be disappointed in you for thinking of your family first.

Live for you and your children's happiness I'm pretty sure your family isn't making life decisions wondering if it'll make you happy all the time...seeing the Navy they give us a year of shore duty before we have to transition back to a sea command if we aren't already on shore duty...

They said the same thing about me, my unit is deployed and they want to deploy me after the 6 months. I'm getting out because I can't will not leave my son. It's just not a choice for me. There's still benefit is and when you go through sfl-tap(acap) they do a workshop for doing a resume and finding a job and they give you plenty of resources to help you once you're out. But do what's best for you and ask plenty of questions before you do to see what they have to offers or how they can help. They're very helpful as long as you speak up and ask

Especially since your husband is in. My friend was pregnant too and her and her husband were in the army and she got out because either way she was still covered by his benefits and her baby has her all the time and she's happy.
