yes, the Rock 'N Play is a must! My son slept in it every night until he was 4 months old. He's 7 months now & I still out him in it sometimes.

I wouldn't say over the pack and play. The pack and play will last you longer and is great for travel. The Rock and Play (we had the Graco little lounger) is amazing for sleeping and naps the first 6 months or so.

@jashmen you're welcome. make sure you get one of the ones that vibrate, it helps soothe the baby more. they make them that rock automatically too, but I didn't get that one. I absolutely love mine though, it folds up very easy for storage/transport.
