Help!!! Yesterday I had my baby on breast every 2 hours and pumped when she wasn't about it. I'm only getting colostrum (3days old) getting her to sleep was difficult and she finally went down at 2:30 AM. She has been asleep since then should I wake her for a feeding or let her sleep? also should I just pump now?

Wake her, they always told me to wake them. Because one it helps them get on a schedule and they are so small the need every ounce they can get right now.

I wouldn't wake her. Her body will let her know when it's time to eat. I always let my babies sleep. She won't starve and she definitely knows when she is hungry or not.

@nadiahuynh, don't wake her. Go with her ques. As a FTM I wanted to wake him and I did and placed him on the Breast and he did not budge. The nurses advised me and also my pediatrician don't wake a sleeping baby. As @sexxymama83 mentioned her body will let her know.

@nadiahuynh, you can't put a newborn on a schedule. Especially if you're breast feeding they are always on demand. Maybe at 3 months not couple days old. I work around Ethans schedule.

Thanks @nurseriri yeah I went with my instinct and started feeding her on demand today has been so much better.
