i haven't got a flu shot or the flu since I stopped getting the vaccination 10yrs ago. I didn't get one with either pregnancy. My baby will be born in may so its definitely not flu season.. my OB had told me that the only reason they recommend it is if you end up having the flu when baby is born you can pass it to the baby during birth. I wash my hands and take the necessary steps to prevent flus or colds and I'm hardly ever sick.

I just think you should do what you feel is right. Everyone has their reasons.

Me personally, I don't believe in doing shots during pregnancy unless it's like medically necessary like some have to. I do get the tdap shot right after I had an and will be doing the same this time. I don't do flu shots. Haven't had one in 5+ yrs. BUT always do what you feel comfortable with.

I always get my flu shot. The flu can be deadly and you are more susceptible to complications being pregnant. They are very safe and have even been shown to decrease the rates of stillbirth in women who get them during pregnancy.

@momofmany, really like I said I got it with my son but I was like 8 months so I'm a lil hesitant

@elainelove907, I got mine at 8 weeks. No problems. Ask your doctor when they recommend it if you are nervous.
