Hi y'all!!! I'm a ftm. 36w & 5d. I have read a lot about implementing a newborn schedule. The pediatrician I chose also recommend it. I was wanting to put my baby girl on a RELAXED schedule since birth. Wake-up and feed then play and/or baby wear and then down for a nap. Has anyone tried this or have any opinions on the subject. (P.S. I would never make my baby wait to be fed of course and don't believe in crying it out.) Thanks ladies!!! 😃

I work with infants at my job. A lot of our babies are on a more relaxed schedule. They eat every 2-3 hours, play a little and sleep when they want and we feed them when they wake up if it's overdue. Some of our other babies are on stricter schedules where they will eat every 2-3 hours, play for about an hour and we lay them down for a nap but then wake them up if it's been the three hour mark to eat. Some parent are more about the schedules than others. It's all about how you parent and your babies needs. Hope this helps!

You're welcome! Don't let anyone try to talk you into something if you're not 100% about it. A lot of parents try to give others advice on parenting and sometimes it's really helpful and sometimes it's a little overwhelming. When my son was a newborn, we were more relaxed. When we have another one, we will probably be relaxed about it again. I feel like it worked best for our son but never know. Good luck!

Yes. All the opinions can be really overwhelming at times. My dad flat out told me I was dumb and that I need to do what he says because he has had five kids and he knows best. I just say yes and let it go out the other ear. I really don't like conflict. Lol. There are certain things I want to do different then what my parents did and I think that is ok. Times have changed.

My baby set his own schedule very early on, but at about... 5-6 months he started breaking out of it. Now the idea of a night time schedule is laughable since he's teething, needles to say I'm grateful for concealer, but he still predictably wants to nap at 11 am, 3 pm & 6 pm & depending on how long that last one is depends on when he wants to sleep for the night. Just go with what feels right with your baby 😊
