i'm nervous af for court the 19th it'll be after my ultrasound . i hate talking in front of judges but my landlord took all my stuff out of my house and is holding it from me might have threw it away my fiance had just died it was my first month not paying rent i went back to get my things and i was locked out and the house was empty .! it hadnt even been thirty days . it was 16 days after unpaid rent & he had no aproval to do that . you have to go to court to legally do that smdh . he claimed i abandoned the property .

I thought that legally they couldn't kick you out till you haven't paid for 3 months and had a warning. That's so scummy!!! I hope you can get your stuff back. good luck

I know it's horrible to bring up and I'm so sorry for your loss but bring your husbands death certificate to court so you can show also in Texas (not sure we're you are ) the law is that the landlord legally serves the tenant with and eviction notice and a # of days stated and then has to go to court if the tenant doesn't leave on there own they have to get a court order and even a Sherrifs escort . There's a lot of steps plus the tenant has 30 days after eviction to remover there items .im so sorry your going through all f that prayers your way

Also if you have any medical stuff or reports or anything and you can tell the judge yes you were late on your rent but you had a major life event and your pregnant so your family or whoever you were with found it best to stay with them . While you were mourning

Girl I can't even imagine what your going through and I hope the judge understands all that the best is to show more evidence as you can bc that stupid landlord can makeup all kinds of things bring your proof of pregnancy and his records and whatever else prayers your way it will go good 💙💗💙💗

How can it be abondenment yes you weren't home ... But not forever your pregnant and just loss a loved one . How can you be on top of everything if you left you would have taken your stuff with you and wouldn't be going to court on top of all these other things ... If I lost anyone I love I wouldn't be able to take care of my self I would be I pieces and on top of being sick and pregnant so you could say they strongly urged you to stay with them bc they wanted to help you get through mourning .. Maybe you can google what exactly abondement entails like what all is the legal terms to make sure you stay away from anything that would show you did that
