so, my mom just left, and its mine and nicks first time alone with Isabelle since shes been home.. she's been really fussy and gassy and won't stop crying... I cried and cried because I didn't know what to do, my boobs hurt from feeding her so much, I can't even feed my child without bawling and cringing in pain... I realized my doctor gave us this enfamil formula for this exact moment, daddy put it in a bottle, and was super excited he got to fees her for the first time. of course I'm over here still crying because I haven't slept since Tuesday, my baby is constantly crying, my boobs hurt so bad I can't feed her, I'm afraid I can't breast feed her, my milk is SLOWLY coming in.. being a mom is the hardest but most amazing job I have or ever will have.. I love being her mother and I cry when things don't go the way I'd hope. like breast feeding.. :( its my favorite thing to do... when's she's done she just snuggles up to my boob and falls asleep until she's hungry again. :(

Awe it will get better boo does she cry only at night?

She might be fussy from something you ate. Try to burp her more frequently. If you keep giving her formula your body isn't going to know it needs to produce more milk- it's an awful cycle. I understand the no sleep thing though. My son wakes up every hour and a half to nurse. Breastfeeding is hard!! I didn't do it with my first born. Just keep breastfeeding and nap when she's napping. See if your bf will wake up and change her so you don't have to do everything. Depending on how old she is you can try gripe water as well.

thank you so much @kimberlyyyy we wanted to try me feeding her during the day and him at night. I didn't even want to bottle feed her at all until at least 1. she's not even 72 hours old yet. so I just wanted to try that and give my boobs a rest for a few hours cause I'm crying they hurt so bad. I swear they hurt more than pushing her out 😂😂😂😂 @kimberlyyyy

Does your entire boob hurt or is it your nipples? Breastfeeding is hard but it shouldn't be painful throughout your entire breast. Nipples, yes but even after a few days, it should subside if Baby is latching correctly. If you still want to breastfeed, give baby formula but also pump to help your supply come in and stay up. You can also use lanolin to help the pain, nipple wise and it's safe for baby.
I really don't recall my entire boob hurting when I first breastfed my first son unless I was full of milk. I know it could be different for you, so I'm just suggesting things, especially if you want to keep breastfeeding. Some moms exclusively pump and supplement with formula. I did that with my second son for the first month or two while continuing to try and get him to latch properl, fortunately for us my milk supply was enough to where I didn't have to supplement, at first. once he started getting the hang of it, I only breastfed. Unfortunately around 6 months of age, I had to stop breastfeeding due to having 3 jobs and tried to pump again but my supply slowly dropped and we switched to formula.

I know that you can get a shooting pain when the baby latches on or when you pump, but it's usually caused by baby latching wrong or your flange for your pump not fitting right/being on too high of a setting. I know I had a pump that no matter what setting I used it on, it hurt and to make it worse it gave me horrible blisters, caused my nipple to peel, made me bleed. It was awful.

my milk hasn't come in yet, so it's mainly my nipples. my boob, not really. I use the lanolin cream and it does somewhat help out. @boogersbugsanddirt my nipples feel like they're on fire lol

Oh yes, your nipples will definitely feel that way. Honestly sounds like to and baby aren't getting a proper latch. It'll take a bit to get it, I definitely suggest having a lactation consultant visit, if you can for advice or going to see one. Definitely keep trying to nurse and pump, even at night so your milk will come in. I know it's exhausting but it's worth it. I used to wake up with my first son and exhusband and he would feed him a bottle, and I would pump if Blake wouldn't latch. You should still be getting colostrum.

which you can pump and feed to baby, or store in the fridge and warm up with warm water. If you don't pump at night, not saying you Won't, your milk won't come in as quickly or as much.
