My first child has adhd and is really hardheaded and disrespectful it seems to be more then adhd…

wow they started him on meds already?! Where I live they like to wait until at . least kindergarten, thats when my son started them and we are still struggling to find a dose and type that work, having children like that is hard, and I won't lie it doesn't get easier because meds dont fix every problem that comes along with ADHD. My son is now 9 and we have a lot of issues but he also has ODD, I wish I was more persistent on punishments when he was younger!

Yes he's 3 he take meds and therapy and nothing still not working I don't know what else to do it gets to the point I just ignore his bad behavior it won't change @xoxo512070

I'm right behind u I know I'm going to have to put my son in it even thoe I don't want to I have no choice at this point

no please take him off that medicine my brother went through the same thing their not that disrespectful you have to find something he loves to do and I swear it'll get better my brother is really smart and he loves music and sports and ever since then it's been way better @marquettak

@marquettak, I did therapy with mine at first as well. ADHD brains are so much different then a normal one. Even after his diagnosis it took me a lot of research to wrap my head around what was going on in his brain and after 4 years I think im finally starting to understand both conditions! With kids like this being consistent is key. after so long (and it may take months) he will understand. With my son if he keeps doing the same thing wrong, he gets the same punishment every time, eventually it clicks with him and he stops. It certainly isnt easy!

My oldest has adhd and he's a hand full but he's a sweetheart and really intelligent. I completely understand how you feel, it can be very stressful. When my son started medicine his behavior actually got worse so I ended up taking him off the meds.
