Is anyone else here a high risk pregnancy?
Im a FTM and I wasn't taken off work/put on bed rest/put on temporary disability until I went in for a check up at 30 weeks and found that my cervix was only 1 cm and half in length (which is very no bueno). I'm currently 33 and four days exactly..
Then last night I was hospitalized and surveyed over night for contractions, which was when the on staff doctor told me she was going to give me a first of two steroid shots (betamethasone) that'll be timed 24 hours apart to quicken my son's lung development in case we both don't make it to 36 weeks. I was released this morning and have to come back at 12am tonight to receive the second shot (which even for me with piercings and tattoos was very far from pleasant). Now that I'm reading up on steroids and premature labor I'm freaking out! But I didn't what I felt was needed then. (Vent over)

I had mine at 30 weeks & made it 2 37.2 wasn't fun on bed rest but keep ur head up hun

how early did they put you on bed rest? I'm a high risk pregnancy..I have to see 2 obs my hr one every 2 weeks..this is due to my history of hypertension.

I'm high risk for to obesity and previous preterm labor at 20 weeks I'm seen once every week for progesterone shots and cervical checks and for now every 4 weeks for my OB but I'll be every two weeks soon and I get an ultrasound everytime I go in

@mimiz, I take progesterone inserts nightly as well. I get my cervix length checked every two weeks.

Oh nice I didn't even know they had those they make me go in for makena weekly they say it's too expensive so they don't distribute it

@mimiz, you should ask your doctor about them. It might be easier on you than a shot every two weeks, but you might have to wait till you hit your third trimester because usually they have to give you verified amounts so early still. The brand I take is called "Endometrin"

I go weekly now they said up until 36 weeks I don't mind it because my memory is so bad I'll forget
