Good job I know so many people who abandon pets when they find out they are pregnant. I could never part with mine!

yours is a cutie. mine is bigger and she's always been destructive no matter how many toys I give her and she has a big backyard to run around in. being pregnant with a two year old she was adding stress. not to mention tearing up my house.

Excercise that doggy, Momma. It will help a ton. ours is a Frisbee fetching lunatic. She's very high strung so if we don't play with her daily we can tell. Also, get the dog an antler to chew on from Petsmart, They're very tough and last for a long time. Ours obsesses over hers and it keeps her busy so she isn't trying to chew other things. Lots of positive reinforcement when you're training too. You can do this.

They're like $25 but they last for months. You may want to take the dog with you to be sure that he's interested.

@huntleymama, @dontberidiculous I'm at home all day so she gets played with all day. she's stubborn. this is the first dog that I've had toys much trouble with

What issues are you having with her? I went to school for veterinary medicine so I have a good deal of knowledge about animals.

she tore up my area rug, she's young and it was replaceable so I let it go. then she tore up the actual carpet in multiple places and we're renting. she tears up pens erasers markers my baby's toys she's bitten up two pairs of my husband's shoes she's torn up a chord she's torn a hole on the inside of her kennel dug holes by the foundation of the house bit up three leashes covers. she has bones and treats and balls and ropes to play and bite on but chooses other things

Try bitter Apple spray it deters chewing, also make sure to be firm with her when you discipline her. I'm currently training my little brothers 4 month old puppy and he has the same issues. He goes in the kennel for 20 mins when he messes up. I take him to the dog park daily to help keep his energy under control. She may be jealous because she senses you are pregnant, be firm with her! My dog had some issues with peeing by the baby's bassinet until I was about 25 weeks after re kennel training him and reassuring him he is still my bff things have gotten better it took a whole month though so be patient.

that's the thing. she's over one years old and has always done this. I'm very firm, I do the kennel time outs, and play with her. It's very frustrating and we're nowhere near rich to be replacing stuff like we are. she's far from my bff and I already have a son so her being jealous makes no sense to me. I've come to not really like her much @huntleymama again this could be my hormones as to why I'm so agitated and annoyed at her

Does your son play with her often? And it's probably your hormones lol I've been getting frustrated with my brothers puppy as well. It sounds like she thinks she is the dominant one in the house, try relocating her kennel she may be used to its location. Sometimes switching it up can help.

yup they play all day long he absolutely loves her. she had gotten out the fence once and taken to a shelter. I only paid to get her out because he was crying about her not being at home. my house isn't very big. she was in the kitchen but now it's in the basement. I only put her down there when we leave or if she's in trouble

When I re kennel trained my dog we had to leave him in his kennel quite often. Not just when he was in trouble or when I left. We had to put him in there every 2 hours and let him cry it out with a blanket over his kennel, he now actually goes to his kennel to sleep or when he gets bored.

@huntleymama, I can try it. I don't like keeping them in kennel but maybe it's necessary

Maybe she's not getting enough exercise? There's a big difference between them running around in a yard and a nice long walk, pits need a lot of exercise, they're very high energy...for mine time outs in a crate never worked, every time she did something she wasn't supposed to be doing I'd clap 2 times really loud, like to startle her (some use coins in a jar and shake it hard) it snaps them out of the behavior, but you have to be consistent with it, clap and get them away from it and after a while they learn. Now as soon as I snap she stops whatever she's doing. Mine is 1 yr 4 mos now. I learned so much from Caesar (the dog whisperer) from his show and I also have his book. Glad you're not giving up on her though, she's adorable! You can always message me with any questions :-)
