Quick rant. I've been living at home with my parents and my 13 yo brother until my husband gets home...since our lease ended in December. It's my first time living with them in 2 years. My brother has severe ADHD and his behavior has become uncontrollable, he acts like he runs our lives and will throw a huge fit if we do anything that doesn't get his approval (something as simple as going grocery shopping). He makes my parents cater to him for EVERYTHING, and he's so disrespectful. Calling us ugly, b*tch, a**hole, dumba**, etc. He's always been a handful, but it's gotten so much worse over the years. My parents have tried everything they can to discipline him (my dad has even had some of his cop friends come to the house and give him a scare) and nothing has worked. I've been so stressed out living here, but I have no where else to go and it's only until my husband comes home. I try to stay busy and get out of the house as much as I can, but it's a constant battle with him and I'm so emotional, it's hard for me to handle it like I used to. Rant over.

Does he have an outlet? Like does he like to draw or do artwork? Or play a sport? Maybe he needs to get involved in something like that. Boredom can cause behavior issues. I don't have any experience with ADHD but i have a 4 year old with some behavioral issues and it's not the same, but I find it best when he's busy and preoccupied with something he enjoys. Has he been involved in any (for lack of better term) special education programs? Sounds like he could use some counseling or extra help, and your family could use some help as well. I'm hope none of this comes off as offensive.

Not offensive at all. He likes basketball, and my parents even got him a companion dog that will play it with him, since he has social anxiety and won't go out for school sports. He's also enrolled in a special educational school, where they provide counseling and other programs for him to help him with his emotional needs, but it doesn't seem to help take the load off for what we have to deal with at home.
