Question, I know co sleeping is frowned on because you may suffocate your baby... But is that the only reason it is? Because for hours and hours my baby lays on his tummy and side in a swaddle while I watch tv or work while he's on my chest. So is it just the suffocation factor or is it that the organs get all moved around and can hurt him?

Co sleeping done safely there is little risk. There is actually a higher risk of SIDS when baby is alone in their room.

Co sleeping is a risk if one or more parents is over weight, a smoker, uses drugs or has consumed alcohol. Remove extra pillows and unneeded blankets from your bed. Bundle up your little in warm sleepers to keep them warm without needed blankets

No one other then the child's mother should sleep alone with the child for at least the first four months. Mothers hormones and sleep habits change rapidly you'll find you will wake up to the sound of a pen dropping in the next room but your SO or parents may not wake of if the baby starts crying ect.

Okay I tried asking the doctor but they're so against it I couldn't even get my second question out. The whole sleeping on my chest for hours. Is that bad? Usually in a hour or 2 intervals. It's not pressing down on his heart or major arteries or something correct? @thehowtohippie

Sleeping on the tummy is fine, the only major concern is suffocation because they don't have much control over their head movements when so young. It's not going to damage anything on his insides.

co sleeping is actually a really good thing America is the only place where co sleeping is frowned upon. when co sleeping is done correctly their are great benefits for both mother and baby. Both mom and baby sleep better, helps regulate babies breathing.

Tummy sleeping is a no no In a crib or alone when they can't move themselves. On your chest is fine. All drs. Are different. I actually co slept in the hospital while we were there and the nurses and Drs didn't say anything or disturb us at all.
