I find it amazing how everyone underestimates single mothers, especially young single mothers. We tend to fall into a stereotype of being on benefits and lazy. Even my own midwife was shocked when I told her I couldn't make an appointment because I was working. Not saying it's everyone's experience but it has definitely been mines. I even got accused of being pregnant to get everything handed to me!!!! Anyone with a partner is also very lucky, cause it could be the simple things like night feeds, I'm going to have to get myself and my son up, go downstairs, make/heat his bottle, find the bibs, feed him, wind him, change him and put him to bed all on my own multiple times a night. I have to work work work and struggle to provide on my own, keep a house, provide for my son and pay the bills. It's going to be tough, but my little boy will be worth it. So single mummies? When you feel like giving up, don't!!!! Because your little angel will only have you to thank. Keep up the good work!
