I had two before my induction and once they induced me I had countless more until they broke my waters. For me (in my situation) they did absolutely nothing. My body wasn't ready to go into labour (ended up having a cs because it all distressed baby too who also wasn't ready for all the faff of induction).
Anyways, talking it through with a very understanding mid ice after my delivery, she said that like all the other "recommendations of getting labour started" (like walking sex etc) it only works if your body is already getting ready for labour or is on the onset of labour. (Otherwise we wouldn't be allowed to walk anywhere or have sex during pregnancy). The only thing I found useful was that it tells you what's going on with effacement and dilation but then you start obsessing about that too much maybe. Best thing for labour is being relaxed.
I really hope you're going into labour naturally and get to meet your baby soon.
Sounds like the start it βΊ I would relax have a nice bath & see what happens maybe bounce on the ball my waters never went til i was near ready to push lol so dont worry if urs dont go you could still be in labour. All the best @char-morgan20
you may not have a show or anything chick a lot of people don't until the last minute same with your waters my labour was 17 hours when my waters went my daughter was born and on my chest in 4 pushes and less than 10 minutes xxx
Thanks @chlo123 @ciara25 @lottiesmam I have period type feeling and constantly feel like I need to poo and can't, haven't had any bleeding or a show or waters breaking yet but I don't want to get my hopes up and it not work π
I had one with both my boys the day before i was due. Within hours i was in labour & had my babies on their due dates lol 2nd time alot quicker. Hoping its as straightforward this time βΊ
I had one at 41 weeks at 3pm! I was already 2cm! Had bleeding And period pain the rest of the day which midwife said was normal afterwards! Then at 11pm that night I lost my plug, felt like I needed a poo but could t go then at 11.30pm the first contraction hit and it was so painful I knew I was in labour! My daughter was born 2 and a half hours later at 2.05am 41+1! No gas and air or anything!
I had one at 40+4 I was already 2cm by this time it cause me to have a lot of tightening almost immediately but went by the night I went into labour naturally at 41+3 so it didn't do anything as when I went into labour I was still only 2cm dilated xx
