Hi ladies I have just hit my week 27 mark and wondering how you all do your count the kicks? Does anyone know a good app or just write it down? Baby doesn't seem to be in much a pattern anymore through the day so I want to keep an eye on the little one. X

Oh right I know what you mean, my baby goes through periods of movement like now I just had my dinner so baby wiggling and kicking but will do for a bit then sleep so I kind of know what's normal, so I guess if it didn't happen like that that isn't normal for me? Is confusing however I haven't counted kicks ever just kept an eye on what's happening in there lol x

Movements could be like turning around ect where as a kick is a kick.. My midwife told me direct 10 kicks I should feel which is outdated. If you are able to count each kick go for it, I was really good with it and it didn't drive me crazy, once I had established his normal pattern I no longer used the app.. Also don't listen to anyone if they say a baby slows down he closer to labour you get.. The movements will be more defined and stronger but the amount shouldn't change at all.. If you do notice a reduction or increase in movements do get checked out.. Count the kicks do wrist bands for counting how many "episodes" of movements you have.. You can find them on the count the kicks website if you're interested xx

@emorleyx, yea my midwife said dont count the kicks individually it will drive you mad. instead count the movements and the lenth of time there moving. for example my lil one moves ever hour n half sometimes not exactly either). but they last about 15-30 mins each time. shes very active but all babys are different tho. they can have rest days ive learnt and movr less when your over active too. lots to consider. but if you fele unsure it is always best to ring midwife. I instincts can be right :) x

I've only been told hiccups do not count as a movement/kick as baby cannot control them. Everything else is to be counted confused! Lol x

I worry like this every single day, felt movements at 15 weeks which I think is lucky considering its first baby however didn't feel much for a bit but felt baby everyday since around 19-20 weeks. I find it hard to know pattern too as I'm 27+2 atm and baby changes pattern daily. My midwife did tell me 28 weeks for a pattern and I also read that they don't count kicks just if you notice something different for your baby too much or too little then contact midwife. Oh and. @kellybear25 didn't know kicks and movements were different, should you notice them separate? X

Well I started to feel kicks at 18 weeks which is really lucky as its my first pregnancy and the little one went straight into a pattern! Gradually over the past 4-5 weeks it has changed that pattern though I have tried two different apps and I didn't like their set up x

When I was pregnant with my son I downloaded the count the kicks app.. I used to count each individual kick.. I then got to know my sons pattern and how many kicks was normal for him which was over a hundred so if he only did 70 I'd be likely to have worried a little xx
