saw on Fb the lawsuit against zofran because it causes birth defects. little worried about it…

my doctor said its safe in the first trimester but can cause defects if you take it the whole pregnancy, which I don't get because baby does most of the forming in early weeks.. I got prescribed it but absolutely refused to take it.

You should be okay, my best friend was on it too her entire pregnancy and her daughters perfectly fine.

well what I read in the the article I saw was that it was never tested or approved for pregnant women and when tested on animals it caused intrauterine death, toxicity, and birth defects to the baby animals. so I'm not sure. I've never asked my doctor about it. and it also says that most of the complications arise from taking it in the first trimester. that's why I'm worried. I have an ultrasound tomorrow though, my husband says not to worry until we see something abnormal.

I took Zofran with my entire pregnancy last year with my daughter, I lost her at 7 months due to birth defects. I never took it with my first pregnancy and my son was completely healthy. Me and my fiance also received our genetics testing to make sure what caused her problems weren't due to our genetic makeup and we came back 100 % good. I'm now 8 months pregnant with a perfectly healthy baby and refused zofran this time even when I was in the hospital cause I couldn't keep anything down. I'm not trying to scare you, but I would stop taking it just to be safe. I can't say a 1000% sure if that's what caused what happened to me but it was the ONLY pregnancy I took zofran with.

I took zofran my entire pregnancy with my son and he has a heart defect. I had a amniocentesis done and every single test out there to see where this heart problem came from. And defiantly not from me or my husband. Once I told the cardiologist about the meds she already knew that was the problem. This pregnancy I'm 17 weeks and I'm still nauseous every single day 24/7. I throw up here and there but I barely eat because everything is so blah to me. So I drink ginger with hot water. And other home remedies to get rid of the morning sickness. They might not taste good but after a few sips u feel so much better.
