Anybody on here have an epidural the first time and then do things completely natural the second ? And what was it like, worth it or not ?
I had an epidural, vaginal delivery, I remember everything plain to this day. I only pushed five times. I was just wondering if the experience was worth it.
Yes. I preferred the natural way. It took me forever to come out of the epidural, so that is why we did natural the next time. With the epidural, I remember a lot more as far as the little details but labor and pushing took a lot longer (almost 10 hours total laboring and pushing) because my body couldn't respond to the pain. With natural, I had a total of 1 dose of Stadol (not sure on spelling, but is IV pain relief), it did not take away the pain at all, but I was so loopy I didn't freak out with the pain either. I remember pretty much nothing about the little details but labor and pushing lasted less than 4 hours total the second time. I pushed for 10 minutes the second time as opposed to an hour the first time. I will definitely being doing natural again this time!
@113015angel, @momwife1316 I had a vaginal with epidural with my second child and a vaginal with no epidural my third child (first was csection)
@113015angel, @momwife1316 the epidural is completely worth it. it goes from (for me anyway) delirious pain to just pressure
I had an epidural with my first and I remember everything like it was yesterday. fast labor and 23mins of pushing. The epidural didn't do anything bad for me but I'm wondering if I could truly handle natural. the epidural did end up wearing off as he was stitching me up but I still had my boost button. The only thing I hated was the stupid IV they put in my wrist and the fact that I didnt sleep at all in the hospital. I lost too much blood since my blood count was already low before labor cuz I have a rare blood disorder so I had to have a transfusion. the epidural itself was a blessing.
