So when my son was born via emergency c section in 2010...I didn't think about this before hand but while I was in recovery for an hour an half the nurses let levi go into the room with his dad where about 20 family members were and when I got to my room to meet him and hold him for the first time everyone was passing my baby around. And I immediately was pissed off and starting crying. I feel like I should be the first to hold my baby. I really want them to keep Kaceton in the nursery until I recover and I'm back in my room before anyone sees or holds him. Do you think that's possible if I ask in advance?? I would really like to get up to my room and change the hospital gown into a comfy gown I bring before everyone comes in. I may ask that all guests remain in the waiting room until I recover. Would that be horrible of me?

no ask the doctor and nurses they should agree with you in all fairness you are the mother they can't refuse that @carolinamom91

that would be awesome to do this time around. it was so awful last time I was in a panic nobody was using sanitizer it was literally one person to another. and when I got to my room my room was filled with people :( @dae

The father is usually the first to hold the baby unless you do skin to skin. But you can ask

I would of felt the same way @carolinamom91 anything you ask for they will try to accommodate

No it wouldent and Yes its possible just tell them what you want and special requests kinda like a birth plan

my hubby feels the same way he's staying in recovery with me the entire time. I mean he's obviously going to get to hold him a bit while still in the OR but I'm referring to afterwards with everyone else.

I'm definitely wanting to do skin to skin as well plus I'll be breastfeeding. does anyone know how breastfeeding will work since I'm having a scheduled c section. will I have to pump before having it when I first go in? or does my baby have to starve for an hour while I recover lol I'm not sure I've never breastfed before
