not at all girl! I did mine at my house, 3-5 on a Sunday afternoon & just had some fruit, snacks, drinks & a cake. In a single mom, I wasn't trying to load everything in the car and unload it & carry it in the house lol.

It's not ghetto you can have a baby shower anywhere you choose. You don't have to fix the food and everyone can help themselves. Simple and easy

I don't think it's ghetto. this day is about you and where you can afford to have it at and what's easiest for you mama! the only this I was thinking about is you were saying,you dont have many people that are supportive in your life.. would these people bitch about having to buy their own food? I hate when people do this but it happens all the time.. some people don't think they should have to pay for food if they're bringing you a gift.. but like everyone else said, people would be able to have what they wanted so that a good thing :)

I understand girl, since ive been pregnant I've really found out who my friends are... NOBODY.. just my family. if it makes you happy then just do it girl... fuck everyone else, they're gonna judge no matter what... my shower is on the 16th of this month and my mom thinks I'm gonna get a lot of stuff, but I told her.. like who the hell is gonna come? lol a few fake as friends that aren't around until now. lol just do you girl, in the end you'll feel better about it all!

Ghetto isn't the word at all. For me, because I'm in to budgeting and saving money I think it would be hard to expect people to pay for their meal AND a gift. Typically I think people expect a snack at a baby shower, not to buy a meal. That being said, I think you have to do what suits you and if people want to be there they will show up. I don't know if I missed it somewhere but is there nobody throwing you a baby shower? Usually they would provide the food, like fruit, a quiche (which feed a lot for cheap). If you don't have somebody throwing one for you and no resources to provide any snacks then you have to do what works for you.

mine is going to be at my 5yr olds and my favorite Mexican restaurant...we aren't feeding ppl bc in the invite we have made it clear that it is at a restaurant and you can order if you like or just have cake and drinks which we will be providing...but me and my daughter will be ordering for ourselves. idc what other ppl think bc if they wanna judge then they don't have to come. I think it's a great idea bc you don't have to clean before or after and ppl can feed themselves if they want or they can t.y.a lol
