honestly, that isn't really up to you. I have 5 step children, 1 calls me my name, 3 call me step mommy, and one has called me mommy since the first moment she met me. if the child is young and only knows a woman as "mommy" to be the one to do everything for them, then they're more likely to call the other woman mommy. it isn't anything personal, you just can't get a young child to be able to understand the difference.

this is what my youngest step daughters biological mother has told me:

if your child decided to call another woman "mommy" you should be flattered, because that means that woman is taking care of business and doing whatever she has to do to take care of said child.

I have been in my step daughter life since she was 5 months she is almost 2 now I have told her to call Me Jass but she calls me mommy she knows my name because if I act like I don't hear her she will yell Jasmine and then laugh.

@ace.n.avas.mommy you can say "fuck that" all you want, but at the end of the day, the kid is going to do whatever the hell they want. if you don't want your child around another woman, then don't let the child see the father either. simple as that 👌👌👌

You are her ONLY mother so I totally agree with you. A mother is not replaced by a stepmother ever & it'd confuse her. My niece was told by her stepmother to call her mommy & her own mother by her first name...

As a former stepchild, I called my stepmother by her name! Not sure if I have met too many real moms that were okay with the stepmom being referred to as "mommy" either. Now as far as @lovemyson_610 comment I agree that it may mean the child is being well taken care of, but that may need to a discussion between the mom and dad! Then I can also see where @reesiesmommy has a point because some stepmothers can be vindictive and try to have you kids calling them mommy to piss you off!

@1prince2divas that was what my step daughters biological mother told me. at first it made her mad, but then she saw how I did more for the little girl than she did, and she got over it quick. at one point in time, me, her and our baby father were all living together, and the little girl called us both mommy. I always tried to get her to call me by my name, but she refuses!

@lovemyson_610, see and that's a completely different situation! When the parent seems to be less concerned about a biological child then you step in and do you!! Kudos to you for being that person! Because stepparents like that are very rare!🙂

@1prince2divas I had to, I can't stand to see a lil kid go without. The "mother" has 4 kids, with 4 baby fathers & 3 of the baby fathers have their kids. the only one she has is my step daughter & the only reason she has her is bc our baby father is in prison.

I didn't mean to start drama guys(: just my personal feelings on it, I wouldn't be comfortable and no other woman will be taking better care of her than myself, and him and I are together, so I don't have to worry about it right now anyway, every situation is different (: @lovemyson_610 @1prince2divas @ace.n.avas.mommy
